2023 DISTINGUISHED MILITARY SERVICE AWARD RECIPIENT

LT Lake C. Coreth

LT Lake C. Coreth is a trial attorney serving with Region Legal Service Office Europe, Africa, Central and stationed in Rota, Spain.  She commissioned through the Navy JAG Corps' Student Program after earning her juris doctorate degree with honors from Harvard Law School in 2016. 

While serving at RLSO EURAFCENT, she was recognized as Trial Counsel of the Year for 2021, Junior Officer of the Quarter Q3 FY 2022, and Junior Officer of the Year FY 2022.   

From June 2019 to August 2020, LT Coreth served at Defense Service Office West.  She was recognized as the Junior Officer of the Quarter Q1 FY 2020 and was awarded a Navy Achievement Medal for her contributions to working groups of the JAGC Comprehensive Review. 

From January 2019 to June 2019, LT Coreth served as Staff Judge Advocate for Commander, Destroyer Squadron One in support of Pacific Partnership 2019.  As the primary legal adviser to the Mission Commander, she managed all civil, military justice, and discipline matters while executing humanitarian mission assignments in the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, and Timor Leste, earning her a Navy Achievement Medal.

LT Coreth reported to Region Legal Service Office Southwest for her command services and legal assistance rotations after graduating from Naval Justice School in April 2018 and Officer Development School in November 2017.

Prior to her active duty service, LT Coreth worked for the Honorable Gonzalo P. Curiel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California from August 2016 to September 2017.  She also served in Argentina as a U.S. Fulbright Scholar in 2012 after graduating from Boston College in 2011 with a bachelor of arts degree in both history and hispanic studies.
