2023 DISTINGUISHED MILITARY SERVICE AWARD RECIPIENT

MIDN Ivette Ayala

Midshipman 3/C Ivette Ayala is a native of Ontario, California where she attended Citrus Community College and received three Associates of Science degrees in Pre-Engineering, Physics, and Math. Upon completion, she enlisted in the Navy Reserves on January 28, 2019 and went on to complete Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois. She attended Intelligence Specialist “A” School in Virginia Beach, Virginia, graduating on March 11, 2022.

From April 2020 to June 2021, her first and only assignment was to Navy Reserve Commander, Naval Forces Korea Headquarters (CNFK HQ) in Ventura Country, California. At CNFK HQ, she served as Intelligence Specialist 2nd Class to provide intelligence support for the headquarters command and eight detachments. IS2 Ayala was responsible for providing open­ source intelligence briefs to the entire CNFK organization supporting the Rear Area Tactical Operations Center and major theater training events. With the support of her Chain of Command, she applied and was accepted to the United States Naval Academy (USNA) in June 2021. In June 2021, she reported to USNA in Annapolis, Maryland for Plebe Summer Indoctrination. She is now in her second year at USNA pursing a double major in Robotics Control Engineering and Applied Mathematics. She aspires to commission as a Navy Officer and rejoin the Intelligence Community. While at USNA she has joined the Powerlifting Team, Mariachi Marineros, Midshipmen Action Group, Latin American Studies Club, and participates in Mathematic independent research.
