2023 DISTINGUISHED MILITARY SERVICE AWARD RECIPIENT

SSG Martha Erosa

SSG Erosa was born in Los Angeles CA. She enlisted in the US Army in Dec 2014. She attended Basic Combat Training at Ft. Sill OK and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Sam Houston, TX.  Upon completion of training, she was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 68F, Physical Therapy Specialist. SSG Erosa grew up in Yucatan, Mexico, until she joined the Army in 2014.

SSG Erosa’s assignments and duty positions include Physical Therapy NCOIC, Madigan Army Medical Center; NCOIC of Task Force Physical Therapy clinic and BDE Master Fitness Trainer, Sharm El Sheik, Egypt; Military Funeral Honors Squad Leader, Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA); NCOIC of the largest Physical Therapy clinic on DoD at Jennifer Moreno Clinic, JBSA; Cadre/Squad Leader at Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU) JBSA; Collateral Victim Advocate, SRU JBSA, Master Fitness Trainer at SRU JBSA; President of the JBSA SMA Leon Van Autreve, Fort Sam Houston Chapter of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.

SSG Erosa graduated from Universidad Autonoma de Yucatan with bachelor’s degree on Physical Therapy, and she is currently studying a master’s degree in Exercise Science with a major on Fitness and Human Performance at American Military University. Her military education includes Basic Leader Course, Mobile Retention Training, Master Fitness Trainer Course, Master Resilience Trainer Course Levels I & II, Advanced Leaders Course, Honor Guard Training, SHARP Foundation Course, Cadre Resilience Course and WTB Cadre Course.

SSG Erosa’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 2, Army Service Ribbon, and Multinational Force and Observers Medal.
